Forest Bathing - Healing Through Nature's Love

Yoga and Ayurveda teach us that well-being is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.  And harmonizing ourselves with nature is essential for health.

Of course there are many practices we can do on our mats to point us in this direction, but we exponentially deepen our understanding and experience when we get off our mat and out into the world.  Summer is the perfect time to be out in nature in this way.

A growing body of research confirms that more time in nature will lead to better health over all and is shown to reduce the stress hormone cortisol, increase your bodies defense system, promote faster healing time, and lower symptoms of anxiety and depression.

In fact, Forest Bathing has become a national recommended practice in Japan as a prescription to decrease stress, increase immunity, and help alleviate chronic illness symptoms.

While you may not be able to get a way for a weekend in the woods - but perhaps you can find a day trip near by or even a few hours in a county park.
