My TEDx Talk on Metta Meditation

MindPlay to Expand Love in Your Life

Friendship is as important to our health as getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising. Metta meditation, an age-old technique, was developed over 2,500 years ago as a path to befriend ourselves and forge a deeper capacity to connect with others. Check out my TEDx talk, presented at TEDxNavesink in May, 2014.

“Imagine for a moment what it’s like to show up somewhere and feel welcome—really, really welcome. Imagine that moment when you truly sense how delighted someone is that you’ve arrived. When we feel welcomed, we show up more. There is no more powerful message we can send to ourselves than greeting ourselves with open arms.”

What people are saying about…

Deep listening

Jillian has a way of being with you through the pages of this book so that you immediately trust her as if she were a tried and true friend. She wants you to reap the benefits of an art form that she is passionate about. Her detail to setting up yoga poses creates a depth of relaxation that few have touched, and her honesty will open up your own heart. Her intention is to get us to listen deeply, which is exactly what the world needs now.
— Colleen Saidman Yee, author of Yoga for Life

retreats

Jillian’s retreat was a gift! She weaves the yoga classes together with deeper lessons for life—all connected to nature. She really helped me to slow down and take it all in on very deeply. I now sense a new level of connection to nature’s sights, sounds and vibrations. The work we did in this retreat really helped me to begin taking steps to make some positive changes…. Inspiring me to discover ways to make my life better.

teacher trainings

I was delighted by Jillian’s light-hearted approach in which I laughed and enjoyed myself while learning so much. I left confident and passionate to share the practice with others. Just days after training, I was able to bring deeper states of ease and relaxation to a man suffering from cancer (and his wife) as well as a mother of 4 with a new born. I am excited to bring this level of rest and healing to many others.
