10 MINUTES A DAY CAN KEEP THE DOLDRUMS AWAY

Intense sweaty workouts aren't the only way, or even always the best way, to keep up your energy and feel your best. New research confirms that carving out time for hatha yoga can increase your energy and help you feel more positive about practically everything. When study participants practiced hatha yoga for 50 minutes, 3 times a week for 7 weeks, they reduced their symptoms of fatigue and depression, some by more than half. 
 
The deep breathing raises levels of oxygen in your blood, making you feel more alert.  It also calms your nervous system, reducing stress, and helps you feel less achy and irritable.  Something we can all use as the daylight hours decline.
 
However, if you can't practice for 50 minutes, even a short practice can help lift you up! For those days you can't make it to class, or can't squeeze in a longer practice, just 10 minutes a day can help make you feel calm, lighter, and more energized.
