Narrative Medicine: Unlock the Healing Power of Storytelling

  • Kripalu | Lenox, MA (map)

For: caregivers, doctors, nurses, yoga teachers, writers, and anyone interested in personal narrative as a healing path to recovery. CEC credits. Scholarship eligible.

Unlock your voice, amplify your creative potential and unleash inner healing in this unique immersion into storytelling. The first of its kind, Narrative Healing is full-body and full-spirit immersion with literary lions, innovative medical practitioners, spiritual leaders and yoga teachers.

The goal of this program is to create an inspired, rich, and multidisciplinary experience for anyone on the healing and caregiving trajectory to experience and become expert in the tools of narrative medicine. This year’s program curated and moderated by Lisa Weinert will feature Suleika Jaouad, Nellie Hermann, Jillian Pransky, Jamia Wilson, and others.

Narrative Healing is more than a group of modalities - it's a beautiful container - filled with growing a collection of literary, spiritual and physical practices focused on unlocking the power of narrative healing. Narrative Healing brings together the diverse and powerful work of a community of distinguished authors, teachers and spiritual guides.  Combine mindfulness practices with practical authoring tools, keeping creativity at the center of the process.

This week immerse yourself in the field with morning talks, afternoon writing groups and many opportunities to practice yoga, work in groups and contemplate in nature. Participants can expect:

  • A transformative experience for individuals on their own healing path

  • Deep relationships and meaningful networking opportunities within the field

  • Strong reflective and creative writing practices

  • Meditation, breath and yoga practices to incorporate into self-care and clinical care

  • Working knowledge of cutting edge research and empirical data in narrative medicine

  • Opportunities for ongoing community building
