Slow Flowing Through August!

Restorative+Yoga+TT.jpg

Truth be told, a couple of weeks ago, while I was accepting all your wishes for a nice relaxing August off - I had other plans. Yes, my plans included some "vacation". But they also included a deep dive into accessing, creating, and adapting my programming so that I can launch into autumn announcing all my new and exciting online offerings.

But the truth is, I have not really gotten to any of that yet. And, I'm barely getting this blog post out.

Actually, the REAL truth is, I injured my arm in a "dog walking incident" right after teaching my last zoom class for the season on July 31. (You know how that happens, you plan a "vacation" and you get a cold or something...)

So at this time, I am attending to my injury quite a bit. Most of my day-to-day tasks are affected. Typing is hard and my movement practices are limited. And, by the way, the Doctor recommends complete rest. (LOL).

So just as I would tell you to do... I’m resting. Or, maybe, it's more like I am 'working' on resting. Or, more accurately, I'm practicing resting... each day, letting myself get a little less done. Slowly, my to-do-list is losing its power over me. I think I’m getting closer to being ready - to allow myself to truly be on vacation - for the downtime I planned for in the last two weeks of August.

CONSTRUCTIVE REST

What I am actually practicing is a lot of Constructive Rest, which is one of my all-time favorite restorative poses. It is deeply nourishing on many levels: the nervous system, digestive system, and physical structure level. Like a magical cranial-sacral adjustment, it helps unwind deep tension patterns in the spine, psoas, shoulders, neck, and head. I vote for incorporating this pose into your daily routine and I'm including one of my favorite little sequences to help you begin.

This FREE 16-minute Restorative Flow Practice Video is a simple sequence that weaves together Constructive Rest, with mindfulness meditation, breath-based movement, and core centering.  It's just enough to leave you feeling gathered: more present, grounded, and open.

Plus this Restorative Flow pairs perfectly with the FREE 20-minute Meditation I offered last week and is still available to you in the studio.

To enjoy both free practices now - and for 30 days of unlimited access - simply sign in or register to create an account in my online studio. (No purchase necessary.)

In addition, we curated some of your favorite classes from the past four months of zoom practices, and if you wish, you can now purchase recorded meditations, slow flow and restoratives classes, and my healing Supple Psoas workshop. There are four ways to enjoy unlimited access for 30 days. See details on the Collections below.

I hope you'll join me in my new online studio. But mostly, I hope that you are able to slow down just a bit this season. And may you create even a little more space for yourself - for rest or for what every nourishes you, brings you joy, restores your energy, or simply invites you to relax more into a sense of ease and wellbeing.
