Back to (Yoga) School

The master of the garden is the one who waters it, trims the branches, plants the seeds, and pulls the weeds. If you merely stroll through the garden, you are but an acolyte.

Namaste,

Since 2001, I have been leading Therapeutic Restorative Yoga Teacher Trainings across the country. Fifteen years later, it is amazing to see these healing styles of yoga being offered everywhere. Popular Magazines are featuring Restorative practices, celebrities are promoting it, and Alignyo Magazine noted “Restorative is the new Power yoga.” It is most definitely trending in 2015.

And, most exciting is the daily broadcasting of new research confirming the impact of restorative yoga on everything from relieving anxiety to insomnia; from alleviating symptoms of depression to increased energy; from improving healing time to to lessening chronic pain. Studies have proven that restorative yoga can help people cope with series illnesses such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and MS.

I am continually gifted the opportunity to witness life changing shifts in my students. The profound effect that restorative yoga has on my students (and myself!), fuels my passion and dedication in helping other teachers further experience and develop their skills in these healing practices.

I am excited to announce my upcoming trainings.  In 2015 and 2016 I am offering several Restorative Yoga modules across the country and two newly formatted intensives: a 50 Hour Restorative Course and a 60 Hour Yoga Therapy Course in NYC.

NEW THIS YEAR:

A Complete Restorative Yoga Track offered in 50-Hour Program at YogaWorks NYC, February 26 - March 6, 2016.
You can complete all five modules in this one week, or register for any single module. (See below for details).

I have also added a 6 hour module to the Restorative Yoga Track: The Art and Science of Guiding Students into Deeper States of Relaxation and Healing. This program will include the science and art of using verbal cues, imagery, meditation and yoga nidra to help your students enter deeper states of relaxation and healing.

60-Hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training Intensive at Yogaworks December 1-8, 2015. This program does not include Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. Instead, we cover a variety of the yogic healing practices including breathing exercises, meditation, relaxation, somatic movement, various forms of asana and sequencing (gentle yoga, chair yoga, therapeutic alignment, and restoratives) as well as yogic and Ayurvedic lifestyle changes. You will gain confidence in your thinking process, observation and assessment skills, and a huge toolkit of techniques to address a wide variety of therapeutic needs. Several expert guest speakers will share their knowledge with us and you will have two opportunities for hands-on practice with guest students with real health challenges.

Want to Earn a 100 Hour Healing Yoga Certificate Training? When you complete both my Full Restorative and Therapeutic track and you will earn a 100-Hour Specialty Certificate in Healing Yoga.

Lastly, for those of you who have been planning to eventually join me at my Kripalu Restorative Training, October 25-30, 2015 will be the last time I offer this specific program at Kripalu (I will however continue to offer other programs and retreats at Kripalu).

Thank you for your own practice and your sharing of yoga. For as each of us learns to relax more deeply, it is not only good for us, but we then have a more nourishing impact on everyone we come in to contact with. Little by little, this spreads more peace on the planet.

Please feel free to email me with any questions at jillian@jillianpransky.com.  And if you know friends who are interested in transforming their teaching or personal practice, I'd be honored if shared this blog with them.

With love and gratitude,
Jillian
