What Baggage?

What Baggage?

In yoga and meditation, we so often talk about letting go. Releasing. Creating space. That less is more. And while we often talk about all of this in relation to emotions and thoughts and habits, this tangible experience of “letting go of needing my stuff” was so transformational that it gave me new insight into all the baggage we hold onto.

Move In To Move On: Syncing With The Season Of Change

Move In To Move On: Syncing With The Season Of Change

"Every moment is born from the death of another...
You suffer because you hold on to each moment, and do not experience the death of the moment...
The universe isn't static...
You have to keep dying to the past...
When you do that,
you will experience the joy in the impermanence too!!"

Change is Inevitable, Growth is Optional

Change is Inevitable, Growth is Optional

September races in, pushing us to a starting line.  We launch eagerly into new commitments and rededicate ourselves to routine. Yet, along with the excitement of what is to come, we may also experience nostalgia, and sometimes anxiety for what we leave behind. While it is a time of new beginnings, it is also a time of letting go and release. You know: that whole FOMO thing -- Fear of Missing Out. Or FOBO -- Fear of a Better Option. All day long, we mentally pull ourselves out of the present, away from where we are. It's exhausting and joy robbing to be somewhere other than where we actually are. It's also depleting to try to do it all; it lowers the quality of everything we are squeezing in.

Free Home Practice Online: Release Tension, Reconnect To Your Breath & Wellbeing

In Yoga and Ayurveda we believe that digestion is the cornerstone of good health; everything that is taken in must be chewed and broken down. We must be able to assimilate that which will contribute to our wellbeing and release that which would become toxic if built up. We also know that complete digestion can only happen when our bodies and minds are ‘safe’ to Rest and Digest (parasympathetic nervous system); when we are relaxed, warm, and relatively content. When we are not in this state, when we are stressed, our bodies pause all digestive functions and instead focus on the potential need to ‘Fight, Flee, or Freeze’ (sympathetic nervous system).
